IDENTITY
Junya Igaki
Born 1971, Kyoto, Japan.
[Statement]
Born into the echoes of 70s rock. Early struggles with the organ led to a temporary setback, only to be resurrected behind a drum kit in my teens. For years, I defined myself as a drummer, yet at age 30, a restless evolution began—transforming into a "Total Musician" to capture the sounds no one else could hear.
In 2001, I released THE SOLAR SYSTEM. I thought it was the end. In 2010, hello. I thought it was a fluke. But as they say, "there is no cure for folly."
Through wasted effort and an obsession with time, the journey continued: III (2012), principle (2016), VIBES (2018), CUBE (2021), H (2023), and finally, INFINITY (2025).
A relentless, perhaps meaningless, pursuit of sound. I will continue to make meaningless efforts in the future.

I remember when I was a kid that I vaguely started thinking "make music myself", but I actually started thinking about it when I was about 19 years old when I first purchased a cassette MTR.
Maybe because I attended an organ class when I was a kid, I can't say it's perfect pitch, but it seems to have a relative pitch.
My brother's friend's electric bass was placed at home, so I remember touching it somehow.
By the way, the first instrument I bought was a cheap electric guitar. I'm a drummer (laughs).
After that, from fretless bass to snare drum (laughs). I feel that the order is different, but it can't be helped. Perhaps he was looking into the future (laughs).
I'm from Bandman and I'm still active in the band, so I fully understand the fun of the band and it's fun.
However, it seems that the style of deciding and producing everything by myself suits me. I feel like I've been doing it for 20 years already (laughs).
